Month of Mustering, 563 IR Part 1

Month of Mustering, 563 IR
Starting off in Bet Rogala, Pekal. Spark Garak has heard rumours of undead and plague in a northern village named Karriadu. Garak decides to investigate and asked Torch Malaran for assistance. The Torch granted assistance in the form of a loan of a mail hauberk and a guard dog named ‘Gunner’. Garak asks Fielder Inala to accompany him and they spend the rest of the day studying in the library hunting for information.

They journey past Lake Et’Sorbet , Ka’afido through farmland. A day out of Karriadu, Gunner noticed the hostile approach of a zombie rabbit. Seconds later the rabbit was violently re-deceased. The next morning Inala woke with a headache. Arriving at the palisaded village they went to the ‘leather bottle’ to meet Balan.  To discover he had been putting it away last night and telling tall stories of vampires and was ‘put to bed’ in barn. Inala asked some discrete questions whilst Garak went to rouse Balan to find him missing. A search of the barn discovered garlic peelings, a hidden pack and a broken necklace. Not having much luck with Gunner understanding him Garak managed to follow a trail to a gap in the palisade.

Garak & Inala then left Karriadu but neither human nor dog could pick up the trail. Calling on her eldricth magic Inala traced the lay lines of the thaumatic energy of the garlic! The adventurers pressed on following the thaumic trail to a couple sitting by a fire. A short talk to them revealed they were banned from entering the village on account of being diseased. The pair ran off after being challenged by Garak. Inala was a bit concerned that she was diseased and she and Gunner went to collect wild roses and posie fictionalias.  At this time Garak noticed he was being snuck up on by the couple and battle ensured. Gunner raced to the battle. By the battles end, faithful Gunner had been run through twice by a spear and was put down. Whereas the assailants turned into Zombies upon there death and were re-deceased.

Entering a hidden entrance the stars of the story they came across a block. Inala recognised it as being used to capture and harness the spiritual energy of souls of deceased devotees of a religion. Garak destroyed it.

Further on they came across another block with a picture of a head. Inala recognised it as part of a ritual most likely related to the previous block. Garak destroyed it.

They then encountered 4 cultists. After the battle Inala was very badly wounded but conscious. 2 of the cultists were re-deceased. 1 escaped out of the tunnel and one after being wounded turned into a swarm of rats and scampered further down the tunnel.

to be continued...

Inala returns to Bet Rogala and hires Denny and a stonemason to get him out.Dennys contract is altered and he goes in there and they explore the ruins encountering various things culminating in a fight with a mage-skelaton and 2 spear-skeletons. Upon exiting the ruins all 3 are charged with trespass and/or theft. Dennys charge is increased to 4 counts of attempted murder. The next game is on 12:00 on Saturday October the 2nd. At the end of your months activities after returning Otha to her father Mantak the Fhokki pearl and coral merchant. You meet up again at the green and are perusing the current jobs on offer at the Gazebo in 'The Green' near the city gates.

Below is the standard version. Extra information will be sent to people with the appropriate skills (literacy, heraldry etc..). Which game we're playing has to be decided by Sunday Sept. 26th. To give me enough time to write up the adventure. People can suggest game ideas incidently, just email me.

If you are comfortable with me sharing your email address with the rest of the group for in character discussion purposes. Let me know and I will set something up .

You all recognise the portrait of Otha in the below notices.

Administrative changes and a to do list

Hi Guys,

First off, thanks to all you for coming and help make it happen. Thanks for the bringers of cupcakes, carrot, cheese & dip. A few changes I want to implement.

Finish by 9pm

We started late, which was partly due to people not having character sheets or players finalising there characters before starting play, which is to be expected at the start of a campagin. However I'd rather finish earlier with players wanting more than finish later with players wishing it was over. I'll be capping the game end time at 9pm and will be aiming for the game to finish gracefully before that.

Order pizza at 6pm

Food makes brains and spirits work better. Food makes a better game, despite how hungry people aren't.

Not using the extra effort rules

Makes things to complicated for newer players and for monsters. Would consider creating an advantage that allows players to use these, a cut down version of weapon master or something, if there was a demand.

Characters changable

If anyone was unhappy with their character, or wishes to modify or recreate their character. As this was the start of the campaign I'm happy with that.

To Do list:

  • provide Tim with a list of supplementry magic skills (spell throwing etc..)
  • Work out a month off schema for underworld characters.
  • Write up the "job board" at the Gazebo at "The Green" in Zoa.
  • Write up a quick summation of the game just gone
