Month of Mustering, 563 IR Part 1

Month of Mustering, 563 IR
Starting off in Bet Rogala, Pekal. Spark Garak has heard rumours of undead and plague in a northern village named Karriadu. Garak decides to investigate and asked Torch Malaran for assistance. The Torch granted assistance in the form of a loan of a mail hauberk and a guard dog named ‘Gunner’. Garak asks Fielder Inala to accompany him and they spend the rest of the day studying in the library hunting for information.

They journey past Lake Et’Sorbet , Ka’afido through farmland. A day out of Karriadu, Gunner noticed the hostile approach of a zombie rabbit. Seconds later the rabbit was violently re-deceased. The next morning Inala woke with a headache. Arriving at the palisaded village they went to the ‘leather bottle’ to meet Balan.  To discover he had been putting it away last night and telling tall stories of vampires and was ‘put to bed’ in barn. Inala asked some discrete questions whilst Garak went to rouse Balan to find him missing. A search of the barn discovered garlic peelings, a hidden pack and a broken necklace. Not having much luck with Gunner understanding him Garak managed to follow a trail to a gap in the palisade.

Garak & Inala then left Karriadu but neither human nor dog could pick up the trail. Calling on her eldricth magic Inala traced the lay lines of the thaumatic energy of the garlic! The adventurers pressed on following the thaumic trail to a couple sitting by a fire. A short talk to them revealed they were banned from entering the village on account of being diseased. The pair ran off after being challenged by Garak. Inala was a bit concerned that she was diseased and she and Gunner went to collect wild roses and posie fictionalias.  At this time Garak noticed he was being snuck up on by the couple and battle ensured. Gunner raced to the battle. By the battles end, faithful Gunner had been run through twice by a spear and was put down. Whereas the assailants turned into Zombies upon there death and were re-deceased.

Entering a hidden entrance the stars of the story they came across a block. Inala recognised it as being used to capture and harness the spiritual energy of souls of deceased devotees of a religion. Garak destroyed it.

Further on they came across another block with a picture of a head. Inala recognised it as part of a ritual most likely related to the previous block. Garak destroyed it.

They then encountered 4 cultists. After the battle Inala was very badly wounded but conscious. 2 of the cultists were re-deceased. 1 escaped out of the tunnel and one after being wounded turned into a swarm of rats and scampered further down the tunnel.
